大型民族舞剧《醒·狮》将在长沙上演

The large-scale ethnic dance drama "Awakening Lion" will be staged at the Meixihu International Culture & Arts Center Grand Theater, Changsha on January 1 and 2, 2026, ushering in a vibrant and hopeful start to the new year for local audiences.

大型民族舞剧《醒·狮》将于2026年1月1日—2日登陆长沙梅溪湖国际文化艺术中心大剧院，为星城观众开启一个充满力量与希望的新春吉年。

As China's first original dance drama centering on the national intangible cultural heritage item Guangdong lion dance, "Awakening Lion", also known as "Xingshi", the work has not only captured the Wenhua Award, China's top national honor for professional stage productions, but also won the Lotus Award, China's top award for professional dance. It has also been selected as a "National Outstanding Production" jointly recommended by multiple central government ministries.

作为国内首部以国家级非遗“醒狮”为题材的原创舞剧，该剧不仅摘得中国舞台艺术政府最高奖“文华剧目奖”，更荣获中国舞蹈专业最高奖“荷花奖”舞剧奖，并入选多部委联合推荐的“国家级精品剧目”。

Set against the backdrop of the Opium War over a century ago, the drama traces the story of Cantonese youth practicing and competing in lion dance. Through the perspective of contemporary lion dancers looking back at their predecessors, the drama reflects on history and conveys a vision of national rejuvenation characterized by the enduring vitality of lion dance culture and the everlasting Chinese heritage.

本剧以南粤儿女习狮争擂为脉，以一百多年前的鸦片战争为故事背景，以今日之醒狮人回望先辈的姿态，对历史进行回溯，从而表达醒狮文化生生不息、华夏文化颂扬久远的民族复兴愿景。

Artistically bold and innovative, the drama takes the Southern Lion Dance as its spiritual core, skillfully integrating Lingnan intangible cultural elements such as Nanquan (or Southern Fist) and Muyu narrative singing. Enhanced by multimedia visual technology and simple yet expressive stage design, the production creates a theatrical language that is deeply rooted in tradition while resonating with contemporary sensibility.

该剧在艺术呈现上大胆创新，演出以南狮为魂，巧妙融入南拳、木鱼说唱等岭南非遗元素，并通过现代多媒体视觉技术与极简写意的舞美设计，构建出既具有浓厚民族底蕴又充满现代意念感的舞台表达。

This marks the drama's debut in Changsha after winning the Wenhua Award. With two shows during the New Year's Day holiday, it will offer local audiences a cultural feast that blends intangible heritage, national spirit, and New Year auspiciousness.
