中国南非200+科学家齐聚长沙，“面对面”聊了些啥？

The 2025 Series of China-South Africa Sci-tech and People-to-people Exchange Activities were launched in Changsha, Hunan on October 21. Over 200 people, including scientists, engineers, and youth representatives from both countries, attended the event, aiming to deepen bilateral cooperation in scientific innovation, talent development, and industrial collaboration.

10月21日，2025中国—南非科技人文交流系列活动在湖南长沙启动，来自中国和南非的科学家、工程师及青年代表等200余人参会，旨在推动双方在科技创新、人才培养、产业协同领域深度合作。

Themed "Science and Technology Empower Green Development," the event showcased achievements through promotional videos. The achievements included the China-South Africa Sci-tech and People-to-people Exchange Mechanism, the 9th "Belt and Road" Youth Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop, and "Listening to Science Space: China-South Africa High-quality Science Popularization Resources Sharing."

此次活动以“科技赋能绿色发展”为主题，用宣传片的形式进行成果发布，包括中国—南非科技人文交流机制、第九届“一带一路”青少年创客营与教师研讨活动、“倾听科学空间”：中国—南非优质科普资源共享等。

Tsapo Seima, head of the delegation from the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, introduced that the event focuses on four core areas: dialogue among young scientists, engineer exchanges, youth innovation activities, and the sharing of quality science popularization resources, with an aim to strengthen the shared vision for scientific advancement. He expressed confidence that these outcomes will continue to position science and technology as a bridge connecting the two nations and a driving force for sustainable development.

南非自然科学专业委员会代表团团长察波·塞马介绍，本次活动重点围绕青年科学家对话、工程师交流、青年创新活动以及优质科普资源共享等四大板块，进一步强化彼此在科学进步方面的共同愿景；相信通过这些成果，让科技继续成为连接两国的桥梁和推动可持续发展的动力。

Cyril O'Connor, member of the South African Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Cape Town, said that the university has long collaborated with the Bgrimm Technology Group and the Central South University in mineral processing. Through joint research projects and co-published academic results, all parties have achieved significant progress.

南非工程院院士、开普敦大学教授西里尔·奥康纳表示，多年来，开普敦大学与矿冶科技集团有限公司、中南大学在矿物加工领域开展合作，通过共同开展课题研究、联合发表学术成果等，各方均收获颇丰。

On the same day, six guests including Tan Weihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered keynote speeches. They elaborated on the meaning and pathways of "Science and Technology Empower Green Development" from scientific, engineering, and industrial perspectives. They highlighted China-South Africa innovation achievements in energy, minerals, agriculture, and high-end equipment, cementing consensus on using technological cooperation to address global challenges. Nearly 40 Chinese and South African researchers and technical experts also engaged in dialogues on topics such as "Youth Development and Global Challenges" and "The Role of International Research Projects in Accelerating Talent Growth."

当天，中国科学院院士谭蔚泓等6位嘉宾作主旨报告，从科研、工程、产业视角阐释“科技赋能绿色发展”的内涵与路径，展现两国在能源、矿产、农业、高端装备领域的创新成就，凝聚通过科技合作应对全球挑战的共识。近40位中国和南非的科研及技术人才还围绕“青年发展与全球挑战结合”“国际科研项目对人才成长的加速作用”等议题进行对话。

The event was organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, and jointly undertaken by seven institutions, including the Hunan Association for Science and Technology and the China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange.

此次活动由中国科学技术协会主办，湖南省科学技术协会、中国国际科技交流中心等7家单位联合承办。
